Finally!

I finally received my Carte de Sejour! That's the little piece of laminated paper that lets me stay in, leave, and come back to France with no problems. So after about 7 different kinds of paperwork, a medical appointment, three follow-up visits, and 10 weeks I finally have it.
That little piece of paper also allows me to sign up for the CAF. That' s essentially housing welfare, so I should start to get a check reimbursing me for part of my rent bill. Since the French government can't be bothered to pay me a decent wage, they reimburse well.
I also have my work permit. Isn't that nice? I got that about a week ago. Maybe I should have refused to work until I had it.
Other than that, teaching really sucks. Well... at least 3 of the 8 classes are horrible. So horrible that it barely makes the rest of it worth it. But just 10 more days and I get to come home for two weeks. I'm definitely looking forward to that. And if everyone at home could do some snow dances, I would really appreciate it. I need some happy weather.
Have a great end of the week!

Hi there!!
I want to suggest that maybe you can put some announces up in your local supermarkets (if they have a bulletin board), boulangerie, papeterie, and also on the town's website... I can send you an idea of what I wrote on mine.. but I went from 6 clients last year to 16 this year and I am making pretty decent money for 14 hours of work per week.. and I only have a student or two for each lesson.. they are mostly individual courses with young children.. and it's great.. I don't wrack my brains out with anything.. The parents and kids are great!!! You are legal to work with your permit so you should really look into it... It may make your stress level go away!! Take care, Leesa
