Huge sigh of relief, we're back in France. But not for long, in fact we leave in 3 hours for Barcelona. I haven't had a chance to type anything out in Word, so this is gonna be a short entry to save on time and money, but I'll sum things up quickly and you can all check back later for more detailed info.
We left Rome with no problems and made it to the Cinque Terre, which is approximately a thousand times better than anyone could have possibly prepared us for. We had our own apartment and it was fabulous, we were able to do laundry, we hiked, we saw the Meditterannean, we saw vineyards, we saw everyday Italian life, we felt incredibly safe and laid back and relaxed... I wish we could have spent more time there. It is definitely a place I MUST return to and I don't think it will be too hard to talk my family into going with me after I tell a few stories and show a few pictures.
We got to Nice and had a fantastic Indian dinner, which we're actually repeating tonight, and settled in. Nice was nice (if I get one joke about that the joker will be smacked upon my return in 11 days) but there wasn't a whole lot to do, so today we headed to Monaco and checked out the touristy stuff, and then got stuck in Villefrance sur Mer for 3 hours. Now we're just killing time before more Indian food and a night train to Barcelona. New Years' should be fun as the girls all bought going out outfits (I brought some stuff with me) and now we'll all be decked out for the night.
Hope everyone had a great Christmas and Happy 2006!!!!
Keep checking for updates! (ps mom and dad i mailed some stuff home but DO NOT open the box... it has your presents in it and i'll have to explain them)

SOOOO glad the next leg of your trip was so GREAT - can't wait to see photos. Watched a great show on "Travel" last night about cruises - hostess went to Barcelona, Nice, Florence, Venice, and Rome. We substituted your face for hers as we watched - fabulous. K's teeth came out today - she's doing GREAT. Now what in the world would make you think that a pkg from Europe would make it home before you (based on prior experience)? Need a mask for New Year's Eve? Have a GREAT time. We'll be thinkin' about ya. lyl m
Hey! glad to see you're having such a good time-- sounds like the cinque terra is someplace i'll definitely have to add to my list of Italy places. See you soon!
