I'm one of them...

It's official. I have become a Washingtonienne. When I first got here I thought it was ridiculous how upset people got when someone would stand on the left side when going down the escalator. (It's "common knowledge" that you stand on the right so people can walk past you on the left.) Today on the metro I was stuck behind someone who had the nerve to stand on the left. So what did I do? "Ummm... hello!!!????" Yeah. When I finally got on the metro and sat down I realized I had become one of them.
In other news the women who hired me obviously never bothered to read my resume since she keeps giving the tasks that I'm incredibly qualified for to anyone but me. Makes for one very frustrating week. Yup.

That's what we like to call "on the job training" -- doing stuff for which you are unqualified, despite cautioning that you are unqualified, and then being judged negatively based on the fact that things aren't getting done fast enough. It's quite the incentive!

actually mine is the other way around. i'm only getting stuff that i'm too qualified to do. she gives me envelopes to stuff and gives the other intern a power point presentation to make from pictures in photoshop. two programs i am very well-versed in.
