Wild Few Days

What a crazy few days! Lauren and Jason and I spent Saturday exploring Washington and the main result was blisters the size of small nations on our feet and muscles hurting that we never knew existed. But it was worth it. We started at the National Zoo where the pandas were out and the baby tigers were making their first appearance. Unfortunately we made it to their enclosure a few moments (literally) after they were taken in due to the rain. We got to see the papa tiger though...
The rest of the zoo was really cool. Amazing that it's all free. Very educational and amazing exhibits as well. The zoo staff was very helpful and friendly. I'm looking forward to going back when it's actually sunny outside. I could spend hours with my cameras and a tripod. After several hours at the zoo we made our way back to the main part of town.
When we got back to the Potomac we went to the Jefferson Memorial, the only main memorial in D.C. that I had not been to yet. From across the Tidal Basin it's beautiful.
We even conned one nice gentleman into taking our lovely picture.
After that we took the metro to Chinatown for some dinner and then decided to take advantage of the fact that Ernesto had officially left the building and the sun had come out. We took the metro back down to the Mall and walked around taking in the views.
The lighting was beautiful and we spent lots of time just relaxing in the area.
We even stopped to see Honest Abe and stayed until the lights turned on. Then we walked all the way back to Georgetown to hang out with Jason. That was the final straw for me and Lauren. By the time we actually got to his townhouse we were hobbling and leaning on one another. We'd had enough walking for a long long loooooong time!
Today Lauren still wanted to do something so we headed to the National Geographic Museum and the National Botanical Gardens and then came back to the apartment and relaxed. I even made a rather tasty dinner! Tomorrow Lauren leaves and I'm hanging out with my cousins. Then Tuesday I start at my internship. And yes, I've had the "naked at work" dream already. I suppose that's a good sign? Signing off for now.
My little sister asked for pictures of the roommates. I know these are bad, but left to right it's Ellie, Natalie, and Megan.
