Resumes and Renewals

I didn't mention this about my new job, but she did require me to give her a resume. In French it's called a CV. Different than a typical American CV, it's just one page and only covers the most important stuff. The word "resume" in French means an overview or a summary of something. My boss requested it be in French and french style. Little did I know just how different that was! For starters, you're required to attach a photograph of yourself. And your age, the place you were born, your marital status, if you have any children and after that it begins to look like what we would consider a regular resume. So let's count the number of laws it would break in America to require that kind of resume... shall we? I handed it to her and she said it was good, but I still thought it was odd.
Secondly, I got an email today from the woman at the "school system". Attached was a form. The email said "Just wanted to make sure everyone had the form to renew your contract" (paraphrased). I'm not sure I've ever clicked the delete button so fast in my whole life. But that email also officially means that I'm halfway done! And I think it's amazing that it took me that long, but now I have a million and one things to do. I'm almost too busy... and for those of you that know me, that's how I operate best! :)
Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend. A la semaine prochaine!

ugh, it took me forever to do my french cv, a week at least, with both roomates, ben, and ben's mom editing/correcting it. then there was the "lettre de motivation" did you have to do one? that was also quite difficult.

when's your vacation? i'm in italy from the 25th of feb, but the week before that i was thinking about checking out some french towns i haven't seen yet. Reims, Lille, Chartres . . .
