Dana is finally back state-side and already missing Europe. But it's time for real life... uh oh.

Frankfurt
Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany. I've got a 4 hour layover so I paid the rather steep fee for internet so I'd have something to do. I'm really trying to get used to the time difference (Western Europe is 6 hours ahead so it's 10am here and it's 4am in Ohio) by staying up until an average bedtime tonight. One day of grumpy tiredness to get over jet lag quickly. The flight was good. I'd definetly reccomend Lufthansa airlines to anyone. Though if you go to Detroit know this... and not that I'd know this from personal experience or anything *wink wink* but your e-ticket might say US Airlines, but when you go to that desk they'll tell you it's really Lufthansa, which is in a different terminal. So you'll go there and find a sign on the door that says Lufthansa has moved to yet a third terminal and you'll have to go all the way over to that one. Essentially Dad and I got the grand tour of Detroit Metro Airport. The food was really good (though I've never been offered so much alcohol in my whoel life... are they trying to make alcoholics in one flight? man alive...) and the seats were pretty comfy too. I happened to be sitting next to a French girl who was going home (to a city near Grenoble) after studying abroad for a year in the USA. So we talked and exchanged tips and stuff. She said Grenoble's a really nice town with lots of young people. I'm really excited now. It hasn't totally set in that I'll be living in France for 5 months... that'll probably come tomorrow when I meet my host family and see my room and stuff like that. Already wishing I'd packed lighter, but what can you do? Hope everyone back home is doing well. Talk to ya'll later!

Hi, Dana! It's 6:16 AM here and yes, I'm actually crazy enough to be on the Internet this early reading your blog. I'm SO glad your trip's been great so far! And I hope it'll just get better.
Love, Kels
hey - glad you're to Frankfurt. You're the first thing we thought of when our eyes opened this a.m. Did ya have a nice, warm blanket? (lol) Now we'll have to check your flight to Grenoble to track you. How fun to have a French exchange student sitting next to you - perfect plan!! Love ya lots.
"whoel"? how much of the alcohol that they offered you did you actually take? ;)
