Yay!

I got a bike! I'm really just borrowing it from some CEA people for the weekend, but they never use it and I think I just might happen to continually forget to bring it back to their apartment. Ooops! It's really nice to have a lot more mobility, though riding in town you pretty much just drive on the street with traffic and it can be pretty nerve wracking. I decided to attempt and find the path from the university to my house on the way home tonight. I knew it existed, but had no idea where it was. So... I just followed the stream of bikers and there it was! It takes me 20 min to get from the bike rack right outside my college to the front door of my house. It takes 30 minutes by bus. This means I can sleep in for 10 minutes. Therefore it looks like I'm joining the ranks of the bikers and making Lance my idol. It's a really old bike and it's purple and the brakes squeal like crazy, but it works, so what do I care? And there's even a light on the front with a little wheel powered generator! How cute is that? Yup, really excited about my bike. I'll try and get a picture of me and my bike up here soon. Hope everything's good for everyone reading this. Leave some love people!! It's been dwindling!

Dana,

Just caught up with your last week or so. I love your journal, as it creates such vivid imagery for me. We went to visit Sarah at Case this weekend. She LOVES it! Your adventures remind me of the emails I'm getting from her about her Cleveland explorations in the wee hours of the morning - with groups of friends - but nervewracking for a parent none the less! It's great that you're doing so much and sharing it with the rest of us! I think some pictures of scarves are in order . . . Love, Mrs. Murphy

That's my girl!!! Do you need a bell? Do you think it's appropriate to keep reffering to it as "my" bike? Hope you have snow tires. LYL mom
